Macintosh PowerPC Systems
Before you install:
Internet Access Edition includes FreePPP dialer software. In most cases, FreePPP is able to upgrade the settings from any existing dialer software on your system. However, in some cases, FreePPP isn't able to upgrade existing dialer settings. In that case, it moves existing dialer software and preferences out of the System Folder into the Old Communications Files folder, located on your desktop.
If you currently have dialer software that you want to continue using instead of FreePPP, do a Custom Install of Communicator, as described below, and install Communicator only (without the Internet Setup module). If you already have dialer software and don't install the Internet Setup module, you don't need to use Account Setup.
To install Internet Access Edition:
- Turn off any virus protection, screen savers, or unneeded extensions, then restart your Macintosh. Use the Extensions Manager control panel to turn off unneeded extensions.
- Open the installation folder.
- Open the folder called "Mac PPC - Start Here".
