The following instructions will help Windows users update their DSL application to include their Member ID and Network Name (swbell.net) and access SBC Internet service:
Modification of Enternet 300 for WinME
Enternet 300 is the PPP client software that comes with the SBC DSL Client Kit. If using Enternet 300 to connect to SBC the DSL connection profile will need to be modified. This profile contains the Member ID and password the software uses to authenticate the DSL connection.
- Double click the Enternet 300 icon on your desktop.
- In the User Name field, type the Member ID and add "@domain.net". ( YourmemberID@swbell.net )
- Enter the password in the password field.
- Select the Connect or Exit button to save the information.
How to modify PPPoE connection application (static/dynamic) for WinXP
Enternet 300 is the PPP client software that comes with the SBC DSL Client Kit. The Windows XP operating system includes its own PPPoE software and should be used instead of Enternet 300 client. This profile contains the Member ID and password the software uses to authenticate the DSL connection.
- Click the Start button at the lower-left of your computer's desktop.
- Select Control Panel.
- Make sure you are viewing the Classic View. If you are in Category View, select Switch to Classic View from the upper-left of the window.
- Double click the Network Connections icon.
- Under the Broadband group select the DSL connection icon.
- On the Connection window configure the following:
User name: Member ID ( MemberID@swbell.net ) Password: Internet password; remember, it's case sensitive. Note: To save the password (only on that computer), place a check in the Save Password box. - Click on the Connect button or close the window to save the data.
